Mission Statement The key to safe and high level performances in any event or sport is formal event education. Both the athlete and the coach must have a solid understanding of the event and incorporate supported current information and techniques into their training and performances. It has become increasingly obvious that an effort should be made to educate and/or reeducate the pole vault coaches and athletes of our country. The educational information should be current, relevant, supported, and accurate. This information should be clearly stated and not misleading or so broadly stated that it is left open for misinterpretation. Therefore, an effort must be made to make such information available to the masses. Based on this assumption the USA Pole Vault Education Initiative was established. The PVEI staff will endeavor to educate the coaches and athletes of the pole vault event and make available the most current and correct information available. The PVEI staff will screen the site’s information for accuracy and correctness. The information will be completely irrefutable, non-controversial, clearly stated, definitive information dealing with the pole vault event in order to give the athlete and coach a final authoritative source. The site will be in continual development and updated with current information, as it becomes available. The Pole Vault Education Initiative (PVEI) is an authorized sub-committee of USA T&F's National Pole Vault Development Committee.
